Radioactive Food Found in Japan

Yesterday Japan banned the sale of food grown in the area around the wrecked Fukushima nuclear plant. This is after Japanese authorities found milk and spinach contaminated with radiation.

The disclosure Saturday by Japanese authorities that milk and spinach have shown higher-than-normal levels of radiation contamination. This has raised concerns about food safety and supplies in one of Japan's most heavily populated regions.

However they said there was no immediate risk to health, amid concerns about what effect radiation leaking from the stricken plant will have on the country.

The Next Chernobyl?

Japan's Fukushima radiates as the next Chernobyl?

Watch this video for similarities and dissimilarities  of Fukushima and Chernobyl.

The Fukushima Meltdown

The radiation level rose at the trouble Fukushima nuclear power plant today after the military helicopters dropped water at its crisis-hit No. 3 reactor, Kyodo News cites Tepco as saying.

The meltdown caused the level around the Fukushima Dai-chi plant's administration building rose to 4,000 microsievert per hour at 1:30 pm from 3,700 in the morning.

The Fukushima meltdown was caused by a tsunami that struck the nuclear plant and its normal cooling systems left failing almost a week ago.

From Wikipedia...
The Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant (福島第一原子力発電所 Fukushima Dai-Ichi Genshiryoku Hatsudensho?, Fukushima I NPP), often referred to as Fukushima Dai-ichi (Dai-ichi simply means number 1), is a nuclear power plant located in the town of Okuma in the Futaba District of Fukushima Prefecture, Japan, first commissioned in 1971. The plant consists of six boiling water reactors.

Turning Japanese

Sending a towering wall of water about 40 feet high in some areas of Japan with more than 15,000 people were either killed or left missing by the devastating earthquake. A tsunami ravaged northeastern part of Japan last week.

A massive 8.9 magnitude quake in the Richter's scale struck Japan's east coast on Friday. This secquencially caused a tsunami.

Consequently, Japan's nuclear plant's normal cooling system and the backup systems failed after the tsunami slammed into the plant almost a week ago. The Fukushima plant meltdown raises a flag to the Japanese government. The level of radiation is extremely high likely lethal in a short period of time.

Japanese government is exhausting all their efforts contain the leakage from Fukushima Dai-chi plant.

The Vanishing Act of Nature

Is this nature's retaliation against the humans? This is more likely.

Japan was struck bundles and bundles of waves last week and the world can not help but watch Japan being wiped out by a tsunami. It was triggered by an earthquake with a destructible intensity of 8.9 in the Richter scale Friday afternoon. Japanese Government reported that there are still 10,000 people missing in several areas in Japan, including Tokyo and Sendai City.

The Prying Pan

Why is that fryingpan.com always comes out every time I put The Prying Pan in Google.com's search box? I'm not sure if the search algorithms of Google got messed up and confused prying pan as frying pan. Maybe the web site frying.com has typos in one of its posts (hehehe).

Let me just reiterate that The Prying Pan is not just about cooking on the pan nor posts food recipes. It is actually about everything - making money online, profitable ventures, adventures, commentaries and opinions, etc.

I hope I made myself clear about The Prying Pan.

Free Lunch Anyone?

Making money online is bit hard for a beginner like me starting out. I keep wondering how to get started and start right on this kind of business. I think paying your monthly bills for your internet connection is a good start.

As I was browsing through the internet, I came to realize that there is no such thing as get-rich-quick schemes when it comes to making money online (not that I want to get rich fast and easy). There is no such thing as a free lunch either. It is because every thing you do (at least what you are trying to do) is supposed to be propelled with hard work, enthusiasms and determination. It is ironic though almost all websites I have visited talk about how to make money online easier and faster. Well, it's just a little taste of a marketing strategy, I say, to sell their products. There has to be a bait to catch a fish. And one thing for sure, for beginners like me, I keep looking for the magic keywords such as easy money online as a freelancer

I am pretty sure I'll end up using that strategy in the next few days. Hay.. money, money, money.

Neglect or Reject

Have you ever been rejected? I bet you have. It's a kind of feeling you wish you'd never have. Rejection is some times mistaken by some people as neglect. But actually, in my opinion, it is better to be rejected than to be neglected. The latter is so painful you'd wish you weren't born. Of course we can't do away with the fact that rejection can also be very painful as neglect. The difference is that you can always try again when you are rejected the first or the second time. Otherwise, you are neglected, gone forever. Neglect means to disregard while reject means to refuse to accept as per Dictionary.com

When you are neglected it is as if you don't exist. You are there present physically but you are actually being ignored. But when you are rejected, you are of course there physically and others can feel your presence but you  are being refused.

It may sound  funny but it goes something like this. You are like a ghost when you are neglected because nobody sees you. You are like auditioning (everbody sees you) for an act but you get rejected.

So which one would you prefer - being neglected or being rejected?

First Things First

I'm not sure where to start now.

Signing up for a new account on oDesk.com seemed easy to me but did not realize how hard it is to find a job in a very huge pool of competitors - web designers, web developer, artists and all.

I've heard a lot of success stories than not with oDesk. A friend of a friend of mine quit his day job just to concentrate in freelancing. Well, compared to a day job, you'll earn more not to mention no waking up early mornings because you are your own boss. It sounds like a perfect job for me. But the question is how? I can only imagine how they started from applying for a job; to their first ever interview; to their first ever project; and, to their first ever pay check. As people say, the rest is history.

Making money online is going to be tough for me but got no choice really but to surf the net as if it were my last internet connection. NO PAIN, NO GAIN!

Ah! Success, here I come.

The Extra Income

Money. Money. And more money.

Odesk.com is gaining much more popularity than other income-generating sites in the world. Maybe, it is because of its robust security and policy. One thing for sure that it is legitimate. But I have come across this web site that claims and promises you income just by hitting a few clicks and signing up to its affiliate web sites. I am talking about SFIimg.com. I was lured by it and signed up for the first time just last week.

SFI stands for Strong Future International. Based on what I have read all the stuff, I came to realize that it's a bit tedious and a little expensive just to make a dollar. SFI requires to purchase a product from one of their affiliates in order to keep ball rolling. If I am not mistaken you need buy an item worth $30. That is a lot of money to cash out to begin with.

Prying For The First Time

Well, this is the very first prying on the pan.

I wanted to create a blog that talks just about anything under the sun; the latest movies; the breaking news; the articles you're wearing; or anything a bit catchy in your prying eyes.

I looked up and was able to get the meaning of "prying" from Dictionary.com. "Prying" simply means impertinently or unnecessarily curious or inquisitive. It definitely says it all. But, the word prying is not enough to have a catchy blog name because it seems awkward to name your blog as "Prying" or "The Prying". Saying it out loud seems gross. The word has negative connotation in it so to speak. I thought a pan should do the trick, thus, the birth of "The Prying Pan".

Let's turn on the stove and start prying on the pan.

It's Just A Simple "Envytation"

Do you consider your self as a compulsive buyer?

If your answer is yes, then you are putting your self in a mortal danger - just kidding.

If your answer is yes, that means you are human.

I sometimes think of my self as a compulsive buyer; though my buying power is not that powerful (hehehe). But if you come to think of it, compulsive buying is not innate to primates like us. It's the envy, which is innate to human beings, that drives it. It brings out the compulsive-buying attribute in us. Simply because we envy the sexy model who wears it (clothes are best examples). It's so funny though because it won't fit you (hahaha). As matter of fact, models are dressed to look at their best. They're well-blessed - a handsome face and well-toned, and flawless skin (among others). Oh God why is it so? See, it always boils down to envy.

But wait you can't blame it to God. I'm telling you the team of the marketing department is whom to blame. They're like predators prying and lurking at the back ready to attack its prey. The Marketing team is simply trying to lure or to envyt the buyers to buy something - neccessities, vices, and pleasures - plain and simple envytation. That's their only job... and yes, they're keeping their job.

On the other hand, they keep perfecting their products and that's good.

But wait (again!), I see that we are getting a doze of our own medicine.

Marketing Team = human beings
Consumers = human beings

Marketing team is the predator while the consumer is its prey. Human being versus human being. Tsk! Tsk! Tsk!

That Thing You Do

I get to wonder sometimes that intimidation plays an important to survive in the platform. Putting yourself in the outfields you get to taste it all. I'm not sure if intimidation is negative or positive now. Perhaps it is both - depending on usage and purpose. Megamind says, "what's the difference between a villain and the super-villain? - presentation".

Anyhow, I see around people do their thing and get to keep everything. Sounds unfair, it's reality? It's a matter of getting-used-to-attitude to survive. I could use some of it now...nah, maybe some other time.
